15 minutes from Skógafoss, this is worth a stop. About .5mi walk from the car to the attached photo. If you want to go up onto the glacier, get a guide and do a tour!

A great site to get close to a spectacular outlet glacier. Don't attempt to ascend the glacier without a professional guide. Glaciers are constantly changing forces of nature which can be deadly

I took a guided tour where we walked on the glacier for about 2 hours during winter time. On a clear day the views are amazing and you might even encounter small ice caves and arctic foxes.

A standard glacier walk was enough for me (I didn’t need an extended tour). Hard work but well worth it for the amazing landscape

Big glacier & it is around 15 minutes from the car park. Also, you can get very close to the glacier and stand on it.
